FIFA RANKING: Argentina Stays Top, Nigeria Unmoved, Philipians Makes An Advance...

Argentina remains top as the Philippines reach new heights in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday. With no international matches in April all teams in the top 50 held their positions. Nigeria remained unmoved at number 67 in the latest Fifa rankings for the month of May. The three-time African champions were adjudged the same rank in the world according to the ranking released in April 2016. The Eagles are now the 14th best African side behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, Tunisia, Congo DR, Guinea, Congo, Cameroon, Morocco and Mali. The Philippines, meanwhile, may have failed to advance to the next round of 2018 World Cup qualifiers for the AFC region, but the Azkals moved up one spot to their best-ever position of 115th.
