Exactly six years after ex President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, passed away at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja. Ex-Immediate-President, Goodluck Jonathan, has paid glowing tribute to him. Yar’Adua, who was Nigeria’s 13th President, died May 5, 2010 at the age of 59. Describing the late president as a servant-leader and stickler for the rule of law on Thursday, Jonathan, who was Yar’Adua’s deputy, said he had lost a dear friend and partner in democracy, peace and progress.
Mr. Jonathan took to his Facebook page on the sixth anniversary of his former boss’ passing, to pay tribute to his memory.
He said: “Six years ago, I lost a dear friend and partner in democracy, peace and progress. President Umaru Musa Yar’adua was a servant leader and a stickler for the rule of law. “He may be gone but he is never to be forgotten. I pray for his soul and for him to rest in al Jannah firdaus”.
